Designers’ Notes:
This 5 carat upcycled heirloom ring was designed with a mix of new and heirloom stones our client received from her Grandma Millwee. Her grandfather was a collector of beautiful, unique things and brought back a sapphire and opal ring for her grandmother upon returning from his military service in Thailand. When she came to us, our client’s favorite ring was a chunky, middle finger ring and she wanted this design to be even more unique and bold. This ring redesign was to be a “expressive, structural, and extravagant ring.” Using colorful gemstone expression as our North star, we sourced this amazing 5 carat aquamarine as her center stone. Framing the oval cut stone in an elegant, but bold frame covered in diamonds insured this ring would not be a quiet statement on her middle finger. Alexandrite in the four corners bridges the deep teal sapphires, white opals, and diamonds that cover the entire ring. A polished 14k yellow gold setting creates contrast and a luxurious, warm backdrop.
