Designers’ Notes:
This custom jadeite and diamond necklace was made from heirloom jadeite and repurposed diamonds. Rachel came to us with her mother’s vintage ring, wanting to wear it closer to her heart in an everyday style necklace, and to create the necklace as a gift for her 7th wedding anniversary. “Sevens are lucky in asian culture, and I would love some Chinese influence to honor my mom. She was the first boss lady, go getter, take-no-shit lady in my life. I saw her as an inspiration to female empowerment, and still do.” We drew inspiration from elaborate Chinese Fengguan or headdresses to surround the jadeite center stone, with diamonds placed at north, east, south, and west. The back of the pendant has hidden engraving of a Chinese character for “mother.”
